Who is it for?

Apprenticeship Training Scotland’s Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ) Level 3 award in Social Services (Children and Young People) focuses on childcare training and for candidates working with children and young people. We deliver the SVQ within several settings including nurseries, after school clubs, schools and residential schools for children and young people of all ages.

Our team consists of experienced and well-qualified assessors, internal verifiers, coaches, wellbeing first aiders, and consultants. Their primary goal is to positively impact SVQ childcare training candidates and, in turn, enhance their workplace performance. We prioritise quality over quantity in our approach.

How do I cover the cost of the course?

SDS funding is available for all age groups, contact us to discuss further.

SAAS funding for age 16 upwards.

What is the duration of the course?

12-18 months.

Can I expect on-going support?

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll have a dedicated assessor assigned to guide you from the beginning to successful completion. If you ever need extra support, your assessor is ready to provide the one-on-one assistance you may require at any stage.

At what age am I eligible to apply?

Individuals aged 16 years and above are eligible to apply.

What is the required time commitment for studying?

We suggest dedicating around three hours per week to your coursework, ensuring a consistent and steady progress throughout the qualification.
